How to resolve Metrc inventory discrepancies with Weedetect

Weedetect makes it easy to find and resolve inventory discrepancies that arise between your source data (Seed-to-Sale, ERP, POS) and Metrc.

It's essential for your Metrc inventory records accurately reflect your business's actual inventory levels. Significant discrepancies can result in the state initiating an audit of your business. Weedetect makes it easy to resolve any discrepancies that arise between your source data set and Metrc, without having to leave the application. Follow this guide to learn how to resolve Metrc inventory discrepancies within the Weedetect web application.

Step 1: Audit your Metrc inventory records

Step 2: Review inventory discrepancies identified by the audit

Review the inventory discrepancies that the audit identified. These can be found by navigating to your recent audits, and selecting the audit you just initiated.

Inventory discrepancies are grouped by the package. A single Metrc package can have many discrepancies. To view the specific discrepancies belonging to a package, expand the details by clicking the arrow to the far right of the row.

Step 3: Resolve inventory discrepancies

To resolve a discrepancy:

  1. Click the menu button to the far right of the discrepancy row

  2. Select "Fix discrepancy"

  3. Observe a modal appears with details on the Metrc discrepancy

In this example, we're correcting a Metrc package quantity discrepancy. However, Weedetect allows you to resolve other types of package discrepancies. The interface will look mostly the same, regardless of the specific discrepancy at hand.

To resolve the discrepancy, input the expected package quantity in the "New quantity" field, and select the applicable adjustment reason. The adjustment reasons are defined by the state, and are pulled from Metrc in real time.

Step 4: Review the outcome of the corrective action

After submitting the form, the discrepancy resolution will be processed in the background. You will receive an email once the process has completed. To review the outcome of the resolution, navigate to the dashboard and observe the result under the "Corrective actions" section.

In some cases, the corrective action will fail. A scenario where we expect to see the Metrc discrepancy resolution fail is if you attempt to adjust the quantity of a discontinued package. To view the specific reason for failure, expand the corrective action details, and observe the failure reason.
