How to find Metrc plant batch discrepancies with Weedetect

Weedetect makes it easy to find and fix plant batch discrepancies that arise between your source data (Seed-to-Sale, ERP, POS) and Metrc.

Updated over a week ago

Identifying discrepancies in Metrc plant batches with Weedetect is straightforward. Follow these steps to ensure your plant batch data is accurate and compliant.

Step 1: Export Your Plant Batch Data

Begin by exporting your plant batch data from your Seed-to-Sale system. This data should include key fields like plant batch names, strain names, quantities (tracked and untracked), and planted dates.

Step 2: Upload Your Data

Log in to Weedetect, find the drop zone labeled "Upload to start a new audit" and upload your exported plant batch data. We support CSV and Excel formats. Weedetect will create a draft audit and redirect you to the audit dashboard.

Step 3. Map Your Fields

Next, select "Plant batch" as the file resource type. This step is necessary so Weedetect knows what data you intend to audit in Metrc for the given file.

Click the icon to the far right of the file labeled "Audit fields" and select the column/field in your file that contains the plant batch name. A plant batch name must be included in each row of your uploaded file in order for Weedetect to find the record in Metrc.

Step 4. Run the audit

Once your data is mapped, you can initiate the audit. Weedetect will compare the data in your uploaded file against the records in Metrc, checking for discrepancies in fields like storage location and packaged counts.

Step 5. Review the Audit Report

Once the audit is complete, review the detailed report provided by Weedetect. The report will highlight any discrepancies found, such as mismatches in quantities, strain names, or planted dates. Use this report to prioritize and address discrepancies that require your attention.

Step 6. Correct Discrepancies

Based on the audit report, make the necessary corrections in your Seed-to-Sale system or Metrc to resolve the discrepancy. You should be careful to make the adjustments in the system that's the source of truth for your business. If done correctly, Weedetect will send an email notification informing you the discrepancies have been corrected.
