Identifying discrepancies in Metrc products (also known as item masters) with Weedetect is straightforward. Follow these steps to ensure your products are accurate and compliant.
Step 1: Export Your Product Data
Start by exporting the products you wish to audit from your Seed-to-Sale system. This data should include essential fields such as product names, strain names, and cannabinoid levels.
Step 2: Upload Your Data to Weedetect
Log in to Weedetect, find the drop zone labeled "Upload to start a new audit" and upload your exported products. Weedetect will create a draft audit and redirect you to the audit dashboard.
Step 3. Map Your Fields
Next, select "Item" as the file resource type. This step is necessary so Weedetect knows what data you intend to audit in Metrc for the given file.
Click the icon to the far right of the file labeled "Audit fields" and select the column/field in your file that contains the product name. A product name must be included in each row of your uploaded file in order for Weedetect to find the record in Metrc.
Finally, prepare the fields that you wish to audit.
Step 4. Run the Audit
After mapping your columns, initiate the audit. Weedetect will cross-reference your products with Metrc records, identifying discrepancies such as mismatches in product names, cannabinoid levels, serving sizes, and other key details.
Step 5. Review the Audit Report
The report will highlight any discrepancies found in your product data in Metrc. Use this report to prioritize and address discrepancies that need correction.
Step 6. Correct Discrepancies
Based on the audit report, make the necessary corrections in your Seed-to-Sale system or Metrc to resolve the discrepancy. You should be careful to make the adjustments in the system that's the source of truth for your business. If done correctly, Weedetect will send an email notification informing you the discrepancies have been corrected.
